Are you a Métis Albertan who wants to start your own business or grow your existing business? Would you like to learn more about the resources that are available in your area? Are you ready to pursue a business idea, but not sure how to take the next step?

These two day workshops are held throughout Alberta to provide you with an introduction to entrepreneurship and the resources available to successfully pursue your business venture. Whether you have a new business idea that you would like to pursue, or would like help growing your existing business, these workshops will help you understand the steps necessary to achieve your goals.

At each workshop, experts will share information about what it means to be an entrepreneur, how to identify markets and business opportunities, analyzing the competition, protecting yourself against risks and the different sources of capital that are available. Additionally, each session will include time for group discussion, networking and one on one advice about your business. After attending a workshop, you will be connected with people who can help you proceed with your idea and will have access to the resources necessary to succeed.

Workshops are offered free of charge to all Métis Albertans, and will be held at the following dates and locations:

February 11/12: Calgary – Radisson Hotel and Conference Center Calgary Airport 6620 36th Street NE

March 10/11: Edmonton – The Sawridge Inn 4235 Gateway Blvd NW

March 18/19: Fort McMurray – The Radisson Hotel & Suites 435 Gregoire Dr

March 30/31: Grande Prairie – TBA

All workshops include a light lunch for attendees. Networking begins at 8:30 AM and workshops conclude at 4:00 PM each day.

Workshop attendees are required to bring the following to each session:

  • Photo ID
  • SIN card
  • MNA membership card or genealogy
